SPRINGTIME GROWTH EXAMPLE ON AN OUTDRIVE
Basic Hull Cleaning Rates:
* POWERBOATS: $1.80/FT
* SAILBOATS: $1.60/FT
* OUTDRIVES: $25/EA + $1.40/FT
* SMALL BOATS/ELECTRIC: $30.00/FLAT
There is no increased rate for bi-monthly service
- Rates subject to change without prior notice
Rates may increase depending on the condition of the bottom paint, but we will contact you prior to the rate increase.
Bottom paint is given a "rating" following service for COVERAGE and TOXICITY (anti-fouling effectiveness).
Ratings are EXCELLENT / GOOD / FAIR / POOR.
Typically, when a rating becomes FAIR, it means the hull is nearing the time to re-paint.
Bottom paint is designed to protect the permeable fiberglass of the hull - not just look nice. Regular cleaning is needed to keep the anti-fouling properties of the paint active. If paint goes "dead" from lack of cleaning, hard-growth can begin and potentially penetrate the coating.
Warmer months mean warmer water - monthly cleaning is recommended during these times. Bi-monthly cleaning can be scheduled for colder water.
Anode replacement is done as needed at an additional cost.
The anodes we use are made of zinc or aluminum. Research has shown that zinc and cadmium (both metals are used in zinc anodes) pollute seawater and can be hazardous to the surrounding sea life.
We use aluminum anodes whenever possible, as aluminum has shown to be more effective than zinc as a sacrificial anode, and is lighter for less drag and vibration on prop shafts. In some cases, are less costly than zinc, and have shown to last longer.
Anode material applications:
Aluminum: salt and brackish water use
Zinc: saltwater use only
Magnesium: fresh water only
Underwater Inspections with Report & Video
Underwater inspections including written report and video are available by appointment for $75.00
